Samuel H.
Sam in an 8th grader with a passion for writing, especially for the Howard Hype. Sam enjoys watching television and making things out of duct tape, like wallets. In his free time, Sam loves to read and his favorite book is, ” Drums, Girls and Dangerous Pie”. According to Sam, most people would be surprised to find out that he is short.
Billy F.
Billy is a 7th grader who participates in band after school. Two of Billy’s most favorite hobbies are video games and watching television. Billy is an avid reader and ranks “Warriors” among his favorite books. Spiderman, is a hero that Billy most identifies with. According to Billy, most people would be surprised to know that Billy has a totally different personality outside of school.
Alexander V.
Alex is an 8th grader that loves writing for the Howard Hype. Biking and writing classes keep Alex busy, but he still finds time to enjoy reading and watching movies. The movie, “TenThousand Fists” ranks among Alex’s favorites. Most people would be surprised to know that Alex is a very fast runner!
Harrison T.
Harrison is an 8th grader that enjoys crafts and Physics. Harrison considers Mr.T as his hero. Cheese ranks high as Harrison’s favorite food, and “Law Abiding Citizen” is his all- time favorite movie. Harrison resides at home with his little bird as a pet.
Cameron B.
Cameron is a 6thgrader that enjoys sharing and teaching new things through her writing with the Howard Hype. Homemade macaroni and cheese is Cameron’s favorite food and she loves the movie, “Ace Ventura”. Cameron is an avid soccer athlete and plays the drums.
Stephanie L.
Stephanie is an 8th grader who enjoys writing inventive stories for the Howard Hype. Most people would be surprised to know that Stephanie is very adventurous. Stephanie stays busy with dancing and shopping while occasionally treating herself to her favorite food, sushi. The “Twilight Saga” is one of Stephanie’s favorite books and her favorite movie is “Tokyo Drift”.
Fitzroya N.
Fitzroya is an 8thgrader who enjoys sports and talking with friends. Fitzroya has a an affinity for okra, pizza and tacos and loves the movie, “Transformers”. Fitzroya enjoys reading and her favorite book is “Stargirl”. Most people would be surprised to know that Fitzroya has a broad interest in many different things and a big personality.
Carl K.
Carl is a 6th grader that loves the freedom that the Howard Hype gives him to write about anything he wants. Carl enjoys treating himself to his favorite dish of ribs, as well as watching the movie, “The Departed”. Hobbies like skating and racing, keep Carl busy while he also finds time to hang out with his Jack Russell Terrier, Rocky.
Alexyz H.
Alexyz is a 7thgrader and enjoys taking notice of the variety of topics that Hype writers come up with. As an active member in the aviation club and student council, Alexyz stays very busy. The Bible is Alexyz’ favorite book and she loves the song, “Three Worlds By, Before You Exit”. Most people don’t know that Alexyz already has a four year scholarship to college!
Jacqueline B.
Jacqueline is in 8th grade and considers her grandmother to be her biggest influence and hero. Texting is one of Jacqueline’s favorite pastimes as well as watching movies like, ”Rugrats” and reading her favorite book, “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants”. Jacqueline loves tacos and spending time with her two dogs. According to Jacqueline, most people would be surprised to find out that she is actually a very nice person despite being a little quiet.
Ashleigh B.
Ashleigh is in 8thgrade and loves coming up with creative stories for the Howard Hype. Most people don’t know that Ashleigh is secretly a textingaddict, but still manages to find time to enjoy reading, like her favorite book, “Push”. Ashleigh keeps busy withher two dogs as well as talking on the phone and hanging out with her friends.
Alexis R.
Alexis is in 8th grade and participates in the Howard Step Team. Writing for the Howard Hype is one of Alexis’ favorite activities as well eating her favorite meal of chicken and resting on the weekends. Alexis considers her mother to be her hero and role model in life.
Stephen Mateo
Stephen is in 8th grade and writes for the Howard Hype, because he loves the experience of writing articles, learning new techniques and working together with other writers. Stephen mostly loves to write about current events and sports. If Stephen could meet anyone in the world, he would have chosen Abraham Lincoln, because he helped to free the slaves. As an avid reader, Stephen loves books and his favorite is Titanic. In his free time, Stephen who is also known as “Junior”, loves to play with his four year old brother and watch movies like, Resident Evil.
Ivanna Marcias
An 8th grade writer for the Hype, Ivanna loves to write about the situations and trials that teenagers go through. Someday, Ivanna would like to be a journalist, and she feels that writing for the Hype gives her a lot of great practice and experience. Ivanna loves to shop and if she could choose to meet anyone in the world, she would pick Zooey Deschanel, because she loves her clothes. In her spare time, Ivanna loves to read and her favorite book is Go Ask Alice. As for movies, Ivanna’s favorite is a toss between The Notebook because it is so romantic, and Beetle Juice because it is so uniquely odd.
