To start off, most people will try to get back into shape so they can have the body that they always wanted in life. Most people may want to get into shape just so they can impress a person that they have feelings for who didn’t like their body shape before.  I believe that if you really want to get into shape, do it for yourself not for someone else who probably doesn’t even know that you exist in their own little world. Also if you actually live up to getting back into shape, maybe you can do it to prove others wrong who said you would not be able to do it.

Another resolution some may begin to try is eating healthier foods. Some do this because they don’t like or appreciate what they’re eating and may think it’s bad for them and ruining their body. Others may eat healthy because they’re fed up with all the sweets that they have been eating and come to realize that it’s time to put a stop to it. In my opinion most people eat healthy because they see their friends and family members doing it, and they don’t want to be left out of the crowd.

The last resolution that I’m going to talk about his helping others. One reason people may want to help others is because they feel like giving back to those who helped them in life, or those who taught them that life isn’t just a game that you can start over and over again because you made a mistake. Also they may help others because they might actually enjoy it, and it makes them feel alive inside and out. When you have a resolution to help someone in need, maybe you should actually stick to it and don’t put it on hold because one of your friends told you to.

Most people may actually live up to their resolutions to make them a better r. Maybe you have a resolution that you want to start to make yourself better or the world a better place. I believe that if you stay true to yourself then just maybe you can do it and feel great about it.

Stevenson Bassy is an 8th grade student at our very own Howard Middle School.  He has played every sport so far this year and is looking at a very successful future.  Stevenson was voted to be most likely to succeed by our students.  As of right now Steve helps Ms.Lee’s son Trelawney S. with basketball skills at school and on his own time.  He also helps local kids in his neighborhood with sports and homework.  I won’t say any names, but Steve also helps students at Howard with their Algebra homework.  I won’t lie… Steve helps me with basketball sometimes, too, like how I shoot, when to release the ball, etc.  Steve is the perfect student to win this award. He helps everybody in every kind of way.

The Humanitarian Award is given to people who help their community in every way possible.  Last year, the award was given to Billy Flowers, also an 8th grader at Howard.  The award has been given out across our wonderful country. It’s always nice to know that one of our students have been given this award. That goes to show you if one of our students can win it then anybody can.  All you have to do is try to help your community in any kind of way.  The little stuff matters folks–everybody must help to make our country a better place to live in. This award shows that Steve is one of those people that help our community. Orlando is known as “The City Beautiful,” so let’s try to make it stay like that. Everyone needs to help. Let’s stay BEAUTIFUL !

Even though we have some games on Monday,

it’s not as good as having a coach like Stan Van Gundy!

(F) My new years resolution is to have more patience with my students and to not get upset when they don’t  do their work.
(L) Out of all them why did you pick that one ?
(F) Well I wanted to choose something that will  benefit  my students and impact them.
(L) Do you have people who support you?
(F) Yes! My husband. He reminds  me to calm down and go with it.
(L) Have you seen a difference in your self since you have done this?
(F)  I have, but I still have to remind myself from time to time to calm it down.

(K) Because  I paid for a membership and never go.

(K) Oh yeah. My husband and my friend because if I miss a day, my friend gets on me about it.

(D) My mom encouraged me to. I cant remember what she said but she just did.

(D) Like a phone and a Tablet.

A lot of people have different resolutions and they pick them for different reasons. There are no right and wrong new year resolution. It’s what you want it to be and why.

In the movie Colombiana is about a girl, whose dad sold drugs until, one day, they killed her parents right in front of her. She was heart broken and ran away. Her dad had already told her the plan in case something like that did happen. So she gets away from the bad guys and goes to Chicago to live with her uncle. Right when she gets there she tells him straight up she wants to be a killer, but he takes her to school instead. She gets mad because they don’t teach in school what she wants to be. So he explains to her, anyone can be a killer, but you have to be a smart one.

The acting is truly great. The actors played their parts really well. Zoe Saldana is a good actress and did her part amazingly.

Even though the movie was filmed in parts of Chicago, New Orleans and Mexico, it did make you feel like you were in Colombia. Some parts keep you in complete suspense…. I know that I was I kept wondering, will she get caught? Other parts are really sad, it broke my heart, how she ends up with no one because the bad guys kill her parents and her grandma and uncle. It was crazy, but in a good way.

In conclusion Colombiana is a fun movie that  will keep you entertained. The acting is really great. Some parts leave you in suspense, others make you want to break down. The whole story is incredible. Therefore you should go see Colombiana!

The lockout couldn’t end at a better time, with Christmas just right around the corner.  While I am talking about Christmas let me tell you, there are going to be some outstanding games on Christmas day, including some of the best players in the league.  Some match ups will include the Miami Heat vs the Dallas Mavericks in a NBA finals rematch. Then you have Derrick Rose and the young Bulls vs Kobe and the wise old Lakers. For our hometown Magic and Dwight Howard takes on Kevin the “Durantula” Durant with his young and electrifying OKC Thunder.

With the lockout being done and over, the free agency has opened up and trade talks have already begun.  Some players have been traded already, like, Lamar Odom- the Lakers 6th man.  He was traded to the Dallas Mavericks, the champions of the 2011 season. There have been rumors of Dwight Howard our hometown hero being traded to either the New Jersey Nets, the LA Lakers, or the 2011 champs Dallas Mavericks. Speaking of the Mavericks, their center who was a big part of their defense, Tyson Chandler, was a free agent and signed with he New York Knicks to join Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire.

David West, who was a New Orleans Hornet last season was recently signed to a 2 year deal worth 20 million dollars  with the Indiana Pacers.  The Hornets franchise player Chris Paul is on the move to LA, but to the Lakers. He’s going to play with the Clippers and young breakout star Blake Griffin.

The NBA has been on blast since the lockout was unlocked. People getting traded from left to right. Free agents getting signed like nothing. It’s crazy. I would assume our generation is new to a lockout.  Not our parents or grandparents since there have been lockouts before, but this one is full of drama. Just think of Dwight leaving us… Well, let’s just hope there won’t be another lockout for a long while.

Demi Lovato went to Rehab for her Emotional and physical issues. She was stressed too. She had a bullying problem and went through it as a child. She had an eating disorder and a cutting problem.She is out of rehab and is working her way back.

Slowly she will be on your Tv screen! She is making a new album called “Sky-Scraper”. She is trying return to her show called”So-Random”. She misses seeing her fans and misses her show. With time  she’ll make a great renewed debut! I really liked Demi Lovato!

Do you guys know if Demi Lovato is pregnant? Well there is a rumor that she is. Do you think that it is true. I do for real! She has told so many lies that I think it is true. So does she really have a pumpkin in her body?

In conclusion Demi is making her way back and kicking butt!

DECK THE HALLS! So it’s Christmas, eh? Well! You don’t know what to put in your family’s stocking right? Don’t worry! I can help you out with that!

The first thing that should go in a stocking, should be candy! Candy is always a first! Some various candies, could be Reese’s, Lollipops, M&M’s, Skittles, and last but not least Snickers!

So, you might be wondering, “What next?” Well, once again here I am!

Another thing you may put in a stocking, would be little stuffed animals (depending on the age). A nice format for these animals, would be ”Beanie Babies”.

GUM! Bubble Gum always works too! There are many varieties of gum also. For example, you may get 5 gum. Or you may get Hubba Bubba Max. Any kind of gum, would really work. Don’t forget to brush your teeth! After all this candy, you are going to need to remember that!

So, another thing in your stocking, could be, a toothbrush! With a toothbrush, comes toothpaste. Good thing to keep in mind!

Last but not least………any little trinkets or items! Little dolls (for girls).  And even little action figures. (for the boys)
