Ubisoft Going Green!!!

Lily Maxwell Friday, April 30, 2010 1

Ubisoft announced that it’s going to stop putting those (useless) paper game manuals in their video game boxes and are instead putting in-game digital guides.  The first game to feature it will be the holiday release Shaun White Skateboarding.  It will be in future Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles.

The move will counterbalance the 6,000 lbs of greenhouse gases and 15,000 gallons of waste water involved in the production of just one ton of paper for game manuals.

Ubisoft also reports it’s using environmentally friendly packaging, using 100% recycled materials made from polypropylene.  The first game to feature this new packaging is the PC release of Splinter Cell Conviction on April 27th.

Who ever said video games were bad?
