It’s all about the U! The U is a nickname for one of my favorite colleges: the University of Miami. Miami has a fantastic history of sports and academic achievements. Miami has more than a few football players that are both hall of famers and currently playing in the NFL.
Speaking of football, let’s talk about the history of sports at the U. Some of the names you might know are Ed Reed, Ray Lewis, Warren Sapp, and Andre Johnson.  Miami never really had a big history in basketball. But in baseball they had a little success. Some of their notable players were Alex Rodriguez (a.k.a. A-Rod), Mike Piazza, Ryan Braun, and Jon Jay.
The U has a fantastic history. Their mascot is an Ibis, which is like a swan. Their school colors are green, orange, and white. The school actually started in 1925. There is an average of 15,675 students there with an academic staff of 3,027. Also, the U is a private college and is very hard to get in to.
The average cost of a Florida-born student is $37,836. Like I said, it’s very hard to get in to. Also their success in sports is one of the best in the country. But Miami is one of the best college’s in Florida considering Florida, Florida State, etc. The whole history behind it is too long for me to write.
