The #1 ranked Gators had a 31-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and ended with a score of 41-7. The game was great except for the huge hit Tim Tebow suffered, which knocked him out of the game. But fortunately, he has a bye week to recover for the LSU game!Â
Ranked #2, Texas won their game 64-7. Texas’ head coach Mack Brown said, “It was a dominating win. It was fun to see our guys play hard, and they played well in all three phases. When you force turnovers like that, games get out of control and you have the big kicking game plays for field position.” Just as a fun fact, Texas and Florida are the top 2 producing NFL athlete states in the United States… watching these games, that didn’t surprise me!
I bet Alabama is very proud of their quarterback Greg McElroy with 291 yards, combined with a strong defensive effort.  This launched Alabama to #3. Alabama had a 35-7 win over Arkansas in the Southeastern Conference opener for the Crimson Tide at Bryant-Denny Stadium Saturday afternoon.
