Inception rocks cinema like no movie has ever rocked before.

Inception – 3 1\2 out of 4

Inception is the newest Leonardo Dicaprio film that rivets and puts you in a world of dreams and movie magic. The film is a powerful enigma where a thief (Leonardo Dicaprio) is able to use state of the art technology to steal ideas from people’s sub-conscious, which is the state of mind in which your brain is active, but you are not awake.

He’s given an offer from a high-ranking corporate executive, who will return Dicaprio to his estranged children if he helps him. He forms a team (Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy) to help him plant an idea in a rival’s mind. Will it succeed? Or will they succumb to the most unexpected of enemies?

Inception is a true work of movie art that confuses the senses with a fine cast and special effects that will rock your world in the most unexpected way. The state of the art special effects include incredible disaster scenes. The hotel zero-gravity fight scene is simply phenomenal. If one bit of criticism can be given, the film may be TOO confusing and run a bit too long, but all in all it is the year’s special effect phenomenon. Something we have not seen since James Cameron’s Avatar.

The cast is led by Titanic‘s Leonardo Dicaprio and Juno‘s Ellen Page, who are both excellent. The director is Christopher Nolan, who also directed The Dark Knight, Memento, and Insomnia. Inception is complicated just his others and definitely has Nolan’s mark on it. Other cast members are (500) days of summer‘s Joseph-Gordan Levitt and Tom Hardy, who both embody their parts well. The classic actor from Nolan’s Dark Knight, Michael Caine, also appears briefly.

In conclusion, Inception is the next great special effects chapter in movie history and is also dotted by strong performances, steady directing, and an awesome screenplay. The movie is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of action and violence. I highly recommend this film to those who like to put your thinking caps on during movies, and those who enjoy thrills and mind-bending adventure.
