History of Boone

There is a school in Orlando named Boone High School. Boone has been here for a long time now.  The school is located on 200 S. Mills Avenue.  The school has been here since my grandma was in school. So you know it’s an old school.  When Boone first started, the population of students was smaller than today.  In 1952 there was a total of 1,015.

Boone High School first started in 1952.  The school mascot is a Brave. A Brave is a Seminole.  The school’s colors are orange and white.  Their current principal is Dr.Margaret McMillen.

Boone has one of the best rivalries in the county.  Their rival is Edgewater High School.  Their first Boone football game sold out, making 11,000 dollars.  The  rivalry has been going since 1952.  Every year they play a game called The Battle for The Barrel.  This is one of the best known rivalries in the county and hopefully these rivals keeps going.

It’s 2010 and Boone population has risen since 1952.  The population is 3,108 students on the Boone campus.  There are two-hundred and eighty faculty.  Boone is a public school with a lot of students. Boone’s football team had a bad season and they had a losing record.  Their record was 4-6.  Their previous record was 7-4.  So their football team could’ve done better but better luck next year.

I am attending Boone High School, not just because of its incredible history, but also because of their good athletic program.  Would you attend Boone ?  Well that wraps up my story on Boone, and remember also be a brave.
