Think you know what being prepared is? Well, if you don’t, I’m here to give you some tips on being prepared to take the FCAT.
-
Get enough rest so you won’t be tired and falling asleep while taking the test (ex. DO NOT stay up all night watching movies and eating junk food. BAD IDEA if you have to wake up to a big test.)
-
Eat a HEALTHY breakfast so you won’t get nauseous during the test (ex.orange juice, apple juice, waffles, grits, bacon, eggs). So if you normally don’t eat in the morning, this morning would be the best time to start.
- Make sure you show up to school on time. It would not be a good idea to come to school 20 minutes late when the test has a time schedule. An example of what could happen if you’re late…
Student: Sorry I’m late. I didn’t get any sleep last night.
Teacher: Well the test has started and I can’t let you start now. You wouldn’t have enough time. This was the last day. I apologize.
Student: Maybe I can stay after school or something. Please!
Teacher: Sorry, I can’t let you do that. Your test would be invalidated and could cost me my job. There’s nothing I can do at this point.
Now do you want to have to go through all that just for being a few minutes late? BE ON TIME.
- Don’t get in any kind of trouble the day of or before the FCAT. That wouldn’t be such a great idea if you want to take your test on time. Unless you want to make it up during your free time, or get suspended and miss the make up day. Not a good idea.
- Bring a snack or two so you can have something in your stomach during the breaks they give you during the test.
- During your lunch time DO NOT eat to where you feel sick. Eat at least one fruit or vegetable.
- Stay on task at all times.
- Now most students bring their phone to school just because, or for emergency purposes, but on the day of FCAT, leave electronic devices at home so there’s no inconveniences while taking the test, and so no one accidentally suspects you of cheating.
Be prepared and follow some of the tips that were given. They can be really helpful and I know that from experience. Have confidence in yourself, relax, and DO NOT let anything DISTRACT you.
